You Deserve a Therapist Who Gets It (and Gets Results).
I’m Stacy R. Schumpert, LCSW: military veteran, mom, wife, micro-mindfulness enthusiast, and licensed psychotherapist. I blend clinical precision with a no-fluff approach to help you untangle the chaos, ditch survival mode, and build a life worth sticking around for.

My Why
I didn’t just study this work, I’ve lived it.
I’ve walked through high-stress zones in combat boots (literally), parented through crisis, and learned how to sit with some of life’s hardest truths. My path to becoming a therapist wasn’t a straight line; it was a series of moments where I realized that helping people find their way back to hope wasn’t just what I was good at, it was what I was meant to do.
I care deeply about helping people move from a place of barely surviving to seriously thriving. And I believe in doing that with equal parts science, skill, and human connection.
If you’re tired of just “getting by” and you’re ready to stop riding the emotional rollercoaster of anxiety, trauma, or suicidal thoughts, you’re in the right place. I specialize in evidence-based strategies for people like you. Therapy with me isn’t about sugarcoating. It’s about science, strategy, and seriously reclaiming your life.
What I Bring to the Table
I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in North Carolina and Puerto Rico, but my path here didn’t start in a cozy office. I spent over 11 years working with military personnel, first as an active-duty Air Force member, then as a specialist in high-risk behavioral health.
For 2.5 years, I conducted suicide-focused research using Brief Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (BCBT), which has been shown to reduce suicide attempts by 73%. I’ve also delivered direct care in high-impact settings, including military bases, hospitals, and community clinics, where I worked with individuals facing intense trauma, sleep deprivation, and chronic stress.
You don’t have to be in uniform to benefit from what I’ve learned. These tools work, especially when we make them yours.
🧠Why Work With Me?
Evidence-Based, No-Fluff Therapy That Gets to the Point
Your brain deserves more than guesswork, and therapy should be more than just venting into the void. I don’t believe in endless sessions that circle the drain, we get to work.
Here’s how:
✔️ I use science-backed methods like Brief Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (BCBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and mindfulness-based interventions to shift what’s not working.
✔️ I lean hard into the Socratic Method to challenge the rigid thinking that keeps you stuck (don’t worry, it’s less toga, more transformation).
✔️ You’ll walk away from sessions with real tools, not just insight. We’ll test, tweak, and troubleshoot until the strategies actually work in your life.
✔️ You’ll reconnect with your values, reset your nervous system, and finally feel like you're living on your terms, not just surviving another day.
